\n<\/strong>At its sites in Schmitten, Switzerland and Buxtehude, Germany, Pontacol operates modern production lines for blow and flat extrusion of thermoplastic adhesive films and functional films based on difficult-to-process polymers. The company’s origins go back to Sarna Xiro in Switzerland and the Balatros and Gutacol companies in Germany. For 50 years now, the company has been extruding thermoplastic films at its site in Buxtehude, Germany, and has continuously advanced its specialization towards thermoplastic adhesive films and coatings. In recent years, significant investments have been made at both production sites (Switzerland and Germany). In addition to the renovation and expansion of buildings and plant, an energy-optimized administration building was constructed at the Buxtehude site in 2019. The building was supplemented by a photovoltaic unit with capacity of 20kWp. At both production sites, only electricity from renewable energy sources is used.<\/p>\n

Sustainable adhesive film technology
\n<\/strong>Thermoplastic adhesive films stand for a clean, rational and ecologically sound processing. Both the production of adhesive films and their application generate little waste. In addition, Pontacol collects and separates all polymer waste from production and sends it to recycling specialists for reuse. Pontacol adhesive films are resistant to external influences and continue to adhere for years, resulting in longer life cycles of the finished products.<\/p>\n

Besides striving to make Pontacol adhesive films even better, Pontacol is engaged in the development of new adhesive films based on renewable raw materials as well as biodegradable adhesive films.<\/p>\n

Adhesive solutions for reliable processing
\n<\/strong>Pontacol’s range includes mono-extruded and co-extruded flat and blown films with and without carriers. These are complemented by functional films used, for example, as breathable membranes or as blackout films.
\nSingle- and multi-layer adhesive films from Pontacol can be tailor-made – adapted to the required dimensions, quantities, and raw materials. They provide the basis for reliable and reproducible processing. Thermoplastic adhesive films are made for continuous or discontinuous bonding of flat and large-area substrates with a high degree of automation.<\/p>\n

Multilayer films: secure bonding of incompatible substrates
\n<\/strong>Thermoplastic multilayer adhesive films with and without barrier layers are the best choice for bonding incompatible materials such as polypropylene with nylon or polyethylene with PU foam. Applications and materials for thermoplastic adhesive films are wide ranging: from technical textiles to aluminum honeycomb panels and various substrates in composites. Thermoplastic adhesive films not only bond, but also seal, stiffen, or coat. There are virtually no limits to the possibilities.<\/p>\n

Slit adhesive films: Air permeability and soft touch for textiles
\n<\/strong>Slitted, air-permeable adhesive films from Pontacol give textiles flexibility, a soft hand and ensure safe processing. Other benefits of slit films include improved sound insulation, reduced rustling effect or bubble-free coating to artificial leather.<\/p>\n
