Pontacol splicing films with new properties

Pontacol adhesive films for profile bonding with increased temperature resistance
The splicing of profiles with thermoplastic adhesive films is a well-established technology. It replaces bonding with EPDM vulcanization. Its advantages in processing and performance compared to bonding with EPDM vulcanization are: clean splices, fast cycle times and cost reduction. With decades of gained experience in serving the markets with adhesive films, Pontacol not only provides standard solutions, but also meets new market needs.

Pontacol splicing films with new properties
EPDM as a profile raw material is gradually being replaced by alternatives that are lighter and show enhanced resistance to environmental impact. Therefore, Pontacol is constantly advancing its splicing film solutions. Adhesion properties are increased, as well as heat resistance.

Benefit of next generation splicing film: Pontacol A21.2257

  • Pontacol A21.2257 shows good adhesion to a wide range of elastomers and other plastics used for profiles.
  • With slightly elevated application temperatures, Pontacol A21.2257 provides approximately a 20°C higher heat resistance in comparison to standard films.
  • Any standard splicing equipment can be adjusted accordingly, which makes the switch to A21.2257 very easy.
